Now through March 13, The Evergreen Gallery hosts a new mixed media exhibition titled “Gathering Together: The Art of Danielle Bodine, Adriene Cruz, Alonzo Davis.” These three nationally recognized artists, two based in the Northwest, contribute visually diverse multimedia sculptures. Linked together by their particular combinations of natural and manufactured materials, the exhibition reflects the “artists’ diverse cultural heritages and personal histories,” according to the organizers. The gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Thursday 10 am to 5 pm in room 2204 of the Library Building.
Seattle’s Danielle Bodine offers subtle wooden sculptures evocative of seed-pods, and traditional boats and stringed instruments.
The Portalnd-based Adriene Cruz creates vibrant haning fabric collages studded with shells, poems and human figures.
Maryland’s Alonzo Davis presents mixed media sculptures of bamboo, print and calligraphy in mixed colors.
