The following are upcoming events related to Black History Month:
February 9th: ‘Hidden Colors’ is a film about the underrepresented histories of people of color worldwide. The Black Student Union will be hosting the screening. Come watch in CAB 301 at 7pm. For more information about the film see: http://hiddencolorsfilm.com/the-film.php
February 15th: The Hip Hop congress will be hosting a lecture from Hasan Salaam from 1-3 in the Longhouse. Salaam is a hip hop artist and community activist. The BSU is co-hosting the event.
February 23rd: The State Capitol Museum will be screening ‘More Than a Month: One Man’s Quest to End Black History Month.’ This film documents filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman’s campaign to end Black History Month and his pursuit to gain more understanding about race and the handling of history in America.
