Eat on Campus? Check out the changes to Campus Dining Services

Campus Dining Services has implemented several changes over winter break.

The hours of the dining locations are changing; the biggest change is the closure of The Marketplace on the weekend. More information about the new hours can be found at the link below. The locations are no longer selling disposable water bottles in cooperation with students who proposed the ban last year; reusable containers will be offered for purchase instead. The Sem II Café will now be serving several kinds of paninis with local Bagel Brothers bread; these include vegetarian options.

Due to the rising cost of fuel and record costs of goods, there will be a 4% price increase on retail products in The Marketplace. Without the price increase, the quality, portion size, or selection of products at The Marketplace would suffer. Campus Dining Services wishes to continue to provide the same service and believes the price increase to be the best option for their customers.

The Greenery is now displaying the environmental initiatives that they are participating in on a board above the compost bins. A display board will show customers in line which food is being served and where it is located in The Greenery. A “fresh board” is now posted to show specifically which foods are locally sourced or organic. There are now more cereal options, including granola and gluten free options.

If you don’t have a meal plan and you buy a voluntary meal plan between now and January 31st, you will be given 5 free meals. You can sign up for a mean plan at the link below.

Andrew Foss is replacing Craig Shaw as the executive chef. Andrew Foss was previously employed by Western Washington University and has extensive experience with vegetarian and vegan dishes.
