Friday night

Evergreen’s men’s basketball took on the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls and lost 99-74 despite shooting .500 from the field. The number one team in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and third ranked team in the NAIA, Oregon Tech shot 26-30 from the free-throw line and out-rebounded the Geoducks 39-27 in front of a home crowd of over 2,000 fans.

The loss postponed Evergreen’s 10th conference win for at least one more game.

Getting to know your Geoducks: men's basketball

No. 34: Anthony Gallagher
Anthony Gallagher is a 6-foot-8 big man who hails from Puyallup, Wash. After a two-year stint at Lower Columbia College he has made his presence felt on the Geoduck basketball team. While his inside presence is feared by opponents, his ability to shoot beyond the arc is a threat should he get the ball outside.
What is your greatest athletic achievement?
Going to the national tournament last year. It was a whole different atmosphere. Additionally, Gallagher said he learned a lot from the experience.

Friday Night

Menefee becomes Evergreen's all-time leading scorer

The night was Dec. 5. The Geoduck men's basketball team took on Eastern Oregon University at home, in their first conference match-up of the season. It was a particularly ugly game for the Geoducks. They scored less than 30 points in the first half for the first time in the 2009-10 season, and they shot a dismal 21-62 from the floor and an even uglier 18-31 from the free-throw line. On the other hand, Nate Menefee went into the game needing only 22 points to eclipse Trelton Spencer's all-time scoring record at The Evergreen State College.

Geoducks too much for the Pioneers

The Geoduck men’s basketball team improved their record to 3-2 in a 71-44 rout of Lewis and Clark College of Portland, Ore. The win came Nov. 19 and was the second straight win for the Geoducks. Judging from Coach Jeff Drinkwine’s face though, you would have thought that it was his Evergreen team that lost by 27 points, not his opponent, as he referred to the grudge match as “an ugly game.”
