Amnesty International holds Guantanamo Bay demonstration

January 11th, 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the first detainees being transferred to the US detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. On Evergreen's Red Square, members of Amnesty International held a demonstration against the detention center. Outfitted in the trademarked orange jumpsuits, complete with black tape over their mouths, four Evergreen students stood in front of the Library building to promote awareness of the controversial military base. Other members of Amnesty International handed out facts and figures sheets, urging students to sign letters of petition.
