Today, Wednesday, January 18, the snow on the ground is much deeper than expected. About a week ago, the forecast warned us against an inch or two. As this winter weather continues, though, that forecast proves to be more and more incorrect.
As of today, it looks like we’re nearing the end of snow accumulation. Right now, there is about a foot of snow on the ground, and another 1 - 3 inches just waiting to pile onto that. The possibility of breaking the record-- 14 inches of snow-- is still in reach.
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, the snow is supposed to let up a little and be replaced by rain. The temperatures are predicted to remain below freezing, which means that ice and severely slippery conditions are still a threat.
