Farmer’s Market, Swantown Marina to Boston Harbor and returning

On Wednesday night the Women Geoducks squared off against the University of Puget Sound Loggers for the second time this season.

The first time these teams faced each other, the UPS Loggers came away with a  74-41 victory in Tacoma.

Evergreen looked to get revenge.

The men’s Basketball team sought payback over the University of Puget Sound Loggers, who had beaten them earlier in the season.

At the start, it was difficult to believe that the Loggers had beaten the Geoducks by 12, with both teams responding well to each other’s pressure and trading basket for basket.

With the score even at 20, the Loggers took a timeout and from the restart separated themselves from the Geoducks.

After being held scoreless in their last three matches, the Evergreen Men's soccer team was keen to get on the score sheet in their last match of the season.

The Evergreen women’s soccer team was on a high going into their weekend match-up against the Southern Oregon Raiders. They were on a two match win streak, which saw them pick up their first league win since 2008 against the Warner Pacific Knights by a score of 2-1. Junior #10 Deirdre Dornay, who scored twice, gave the Geoducks the win.

The men suffered a tough road trip during the past two weeks. In three matches that they played, they conceded 9 goals and only scored 1 in the process.

Two wins from two

The Geoducks' weekend started with a match against the College of Idaho Coyotes on Friday and then on Saturday they faced Oregon Tech Owls. Evergreen, who came off a loss from earlier, was in desperate need of a rebound.

Evergreen returned home hoping to bounce back from their two league defeats last weekend with a win against the Northwest Eagles.

The matched started with both teams struggling to find any rhythm to their play. Evergreen found themselves losing the ball easily in the midfield and the Eagles could not put together any meaningful attack on Evergreen’s goal.

One week after both the men’s and women’s soccer teams suffered defeats on the road, they were back in action at home. The men and women both faced the Northwest Eagles in a Cascade Conference match up.

Both Geoduck teams wore pink socks to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness, and they all faced stiff competition with the Eagles men’s team in second place and the women's in first place.

After the men and women's soccer teams picked up positive results at home on Wednesday the 28th, they went on the road.

The men, who fought back in the dying minutes of their match on Wednesday to gain an impressive win, were out-classed by the ruthless Oregon Tech Owls. The Geoducks allowed them to score five goals. Evergreen kept the game close in the first half, the score line reading 2-3 with goals produced by Corey Johnson and Caleb Phillips. However, the Owls scored two more goals, making the comeback impossible.

After suffering a 4-0 defeat to Eastern Washington on September 16th, the Geoducks looked to get back on the right track against Trinity Lutheran Eagles, who had already defeated them 5-1 earlier this season.

When the first half started on September 28, the Geoducks showed they had a better side than their recent result would suggest.

Evergreen controlled all parts of the pitch. They defended as a unit, they controlled as a unit, and they attacked as a unit.

The Geoduck Men's soccer team had lost three of their last four matches before they took on the Warner Pacific Knights on Wednesday, September 28. Their only positive result was a 0-0 draw last Wednesday, September 21, in Eugene, Oregon when they played Northwest Christian.

Evergreen desperately needed a positive result to boost their spirits. Evergreen stepped up.
