The men suffered a tough road trip during the past two weeks. In three matches that they played, they conceded 9 goals and only scored 1 in the process.
Their first match was against the Warner Pacific Knights, who had beaten them 3-2 already in the season. Evergreen found themselves trailing after 23 minutes after #9 Allja Sacirovic played in #7 Almir Celebic who outfoxed Christian Pettit in goal. 57 minutes later Evergreen leveled the score thanks to a #6 George Bundy free kick that forced extra time. Extra time saw the matched played out to a 1-1 draw with both teams picking up a point.
The Geoducks next match was against the 12th ranked Concordia three days later. The Cavaliers who won only by a goal last time these sides met, wasted no time in showing who was at the top of the league. The Cavaliers scored twice in two minutes in the first half to put the Geoducks on the back foot. The game was put to bed in the second half when in 9 minutes of play of Cavaliers found the back of the net three times to increase their lead to 5. 5-0 was how the match ended and it was the third time this season that the Geoducks had conceded 5 goals in a match.
Evergreen traveled up to Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington to finish off their road trip. The match got off to a rough start, with 3:02 being shown on the game clock when Eagle’s #11 Luke Fischer were able to grab the lead. Eagles continued to pressure the Evergreen goal but the did not concede another goal in the first half. When the second half resumed, Evergreen saw their deficit doubled 5 minutes into the second half thanks to #20 Drew Jensen. 30 minutes later, the Eagle’s #7 Nickey Ricks found the back of the net for third to time to really put the match beyond the reach of the Geoducks.
The Geoducks next match is away to Trinity Lutheran College on the 2nd of November and 3 days later the Geoducks have their final home game of the season when they play Northwest Christian College. Both matches are schedule to start at 3 pm.
